## About

Ping Intel (Ping Data Technology) is a commercial property insurance data and analytics platform.
We process over one million Statements of Values (SOVs) annually for the world's largest insurance
companies, reinsurers, brokers, and intermediaries.

## What We Do

- SOV processing: geocoding, data extraction, COPE normalization, quality scoring
- Hazard scoring: distance to coast, wildfire, flood, earthquake, wind zone, crime, storm surge

## Key Concepts

- **SOV (Statement of Values)**: list of insured properties submitted with a commercial property
  insurance application. Contains addresses, building values, construction, occupancy, and limits.
- **COPE**: Construction, Occupancy, Protection, Exposure — the four data dimensions used in
  commercial property underwriting.
- **TIV (Total Insured Value)**: total declared value of all insured property in a portfolio.
- **Distance to Coast (DTC)**: straight-line distance from a property to the nearest open ocean
  shoreline. Used by carriers to apply named storm wind deductibles and assess hurricane exposure.
- **CAT modeling**: catastrophe modeling — quantitative simulation of natural disaster losses.
